Vencedores do Spirit Awards 2019

Neste sábado foi realizada a cerimônia do Spirit Awards, onde reúne as principais escolhas do ano no cinema independente. A premiação tem como principal objetivo arrecadar fundos para os programas anuais de sua criadora (a Film Independent), impulsionar a carreira de cineastas emergentes e assim promover a diversidade no meio cinematográfico, reconhecendo assim os filmes americanos independentes de baixo orçamento.

Para os brasileiros, houve uma grande uma surpresa, o prêmio Someone to Watch (direcionado à cineastas em ascensão) ficou com o brasileiro Alex Moratto, que dirigiu Sócrates. Já Se a Rua Beale Falasse, de Barry Jenkins, venceu os prêmios de Melhor Filme e Melhor Diretor.
